This year I worked on many videos for Sherwin-Williams. In order to streamline process from design to video, I created a storyboard component system within Figma. This template alleviates the pain from designers to having to build storyboards, move frames around when there are changes, and links full scale art to the storyboard thumbnails. Writers, Designers, and Animators can work in tandem with one file to complete their project. Here is a breakdown below.
Atomic Modules
Designers can easily swap out a system of icons and text descriptions based on project needs.
Auto Layout
With auto layout, the storyboard content fluidly resizes when content overflows. Both the storyboard frame and entire page will continually readjust to fit with any update.
Art Frame Component
I created an art component that automatically syncs the full scale art to the thumbnail within the storyboard. Instead of having to continually resize art to thumbnails, designers can focus directly on making great work. Motion Designers can easily pull assets directly from the full size art.
